Graduation Speech

Welcome friends, family, teachers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and fellow graduates. I want to start off by saying thank you to all the teachers I've had throughout my past nine years here at District 67. From teaching me the ABC's to helping me solve a five-step math problem, I am truly honored to have been taught by you. I want to thank you for always believing in me and never giving up for all the students here. Next, I want to thank my parents for pushing me to the limits. All those lectures paid off. If it weren't for you, I don't know how I would be here. Now, my one-of-a-kind classmates. You guys are all so amazing in your own ways which is why our class is so special. Most of us have gone to school together since Kindergarten, and even though some of you just came this year, it feels as if I've known you since Kindergarten. The memories we have made in our time at District 67 will be cherished forever. Our Camp MacLean trip was really fun and I don't think i

Guess what? It's a Free Post.

The end of the year is coming by so quickly. We have so many things going on in the next couple of weeks, including:  Same old boring homework and projects Camp MacLean (YAY!!) Finals *cries* 8th Grade Graduation Dance Awards Ceremony Graduation Ceremony I'm so excited yet very nervous for some of these upcoming events. Instead of talking about all the booooooooorrrrrrrrrrinnnnnng work we still need to cover, I'm going to start with Camp MacLean. I seriously can't wait to go to camp and get away from school but still be with my friends. I recall that last year's trip to camp was so fun and I can't wait to create many more memories this year. The Finals are also coming up. Yes, as soon as May 22nd. I'm not really a nervous test-taker, but that can change if you put a science test in front of me. Let's just say science isn't my strongest subject. I'm not really that nervous for most of the other tests but Finals still aren't the best

Endings and Begginings

This is one of my favorite quotes. When you want to be something or have something, you can't be like Aladdin and ask a Genie to give it to you. You have to start small and eventually you will grow. Just like a tree. It starts off with a tiny seed and it eventually turns into this huge thing that you use for shade during the summer. I really want to become a doctor when i'm older, but like I said, I can't just ask a Genie for my doctors degree, so I have to work for it. And it starts now. It might not seem huge but going to school is the first step and it is a small beginning compared to writing up prescriptions and helping patients. I feel like a job as a doctor is a big thing and just as the quote says, "Big things often have small beginnings." :)

It's Complicated.

There are many things that come to my mind as complicated. Besides waking up at six everyday for school, I think trying to accomplish a skill in a sport is probably one of the most complicated things in my life. Here's why. I started playing volleyball in the 3rd grade, when I saw my older cousin play. I thought, "Hey, that looks like fun." Ever since then, I've played volleyball and it has always been my favorite sport. Like most starters, I started out with underhand serves and simple bumps. I was scared to set because I had small fingers and I was afraid that I'd break one. After learning the basics (including setting), I tried digging and diving for the ball. I was afraid to throw myself towards the ball at first, but then I got it. Of course accomplishing these so-called basic skills seems like it's a piece of cake for you. Haha. Try it. Now, on to the most complicated skill, in my opinion. OVERHAND SERVING. For me, I've had the most trouble wit

I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL MAY 19!

Wait for it... EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING MOVIE COMES OUT ON MAY THE 19! If you have not already read the book Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon, shame on you. I can't even begin to tell how good the book is. I strongly recommend you read it after you hear me explain why I'm so excited to see the movie. If you haven't already figured, the movie comes out on May 19, which isn't really that far away if you think about it. I finished the book in about two days, for many reasons. The book is written in many creative ways. Some pages are notes, some are short chapters, and others are words written in swirls. The context of the book and the way it's written makes you want to continue reading it. Here I have attached the wonderful movie trailer for you. Please read the book first. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjbG_NHjmdM

When I think of the word amazing, I think of my dad. My dad is always determined to make me and my siblings better people every day. He has taught me right from wrong and teaches me the most important things I need in my life. I am very thankful for my dad. He is one of my greatest role models. I hope I can grow up to be as smart and patient as my dad is. From pointing out driving techniques in the car to simply helping me with my math homework, he's always helping me. During my first amusement park ride, I had 6 tickets left for myself only but my dad came on the ride with me since I was afraid. I can't thank my dad enough because that was the scariest ride experience I've ever had. My dad is always pushing me to do better and because of him, I have succeeded in many things. Thanks Dad.
