Graduation Speech

Welcome friends, family, teachers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and fellow graduates. I want to start off by saying thank you to all the teachers I've had throughout my past nine years here at District 67. From teaching me the ABC's to helping me solve a five-step math problem, I am truly honored to have been taught by you. I want to thank you for always believing in me and never giving up for all the students here. Next, I want to thank my parents for pushing me to the limits. All those lectures paid off. If it weren't for you, I don't know how I would be here. Now, my one-of-a-kind classmates. You guys are all so amazing in your own ways which is why our class is so special. Most of us have gone to school together since Kindergarten, and even though some of you just came this year, it feels as if I've known you since Kindergarten. The memories we have made in our time at District 67 will be cherished forever. Our Camp MacLean trip was really fun and I don't think it would've been as fun without this class. Even ask the teachers. You know this class here is special when you start tearing up at the mini candle speeches around the campfire. Knowing everyone here has been an honor and I wish you all the best of luck in high school. Here is one of my favorite quotes by Dr. Seuss.

"You're on your own. And you know what you know, And you are the one who'll decide where to go.."

Best of Luck Class of 2017!
